Biomutant Delayed To 2019, Receives Tons of New Gameplay Footage

And a pretty cool looking trailer to go along with all of that.

Biomutant

Biomutant was first announced two years ago almost exactly to the day now, and since then, its unique setting, vibrant and beautiful looking world, and its concept as an open world action RPG have drawn a lot of attention from a number of people. Excitement for the game has certainly been pretty high, especially in light of some very bold claims from its developers, more or less consistently, and we’ve all been awaiting more info on it.

Sadly, we’re going to have to wait for the game itself a little longer. At Gamescom 2018, THQ Nordic – who acquired the Biomutant IP and its developers Experiment 101 in November 2017 – announced that Biomutant has been delayed from its initially planned 2018 release date to 2019, while an exact release date even next year remains unannounced as of yet. Let’s just hope it doesn’t get delayed any further beyond that.

On a cheerier note, though, a trailer, a new set of beautiful screenshots, and a couple of pretty meaty gameplay videos were also shown off at Gamescom. The trailer shows off various aspects of the game, from its world design, to some of its quirkier characters, to a little bit of traversal here and there. It looks really good, actually, and gives you a good idea of the sort of vibrant art style its look is going for.

The gameplay trailers are the real deal, though. There’s two of them, and both are pretty long, and collectively give us roughly 30 new minutes of gameplay footage. From character creation, to its world design, to enemy design, to combat encounters, to even boss encounters, there’s a lot of stuff to sink your teeth into. All of it is also accompanied by charming and amusing narration, to boot. If you’re interested in the game, you’re gonna want to take a look.

Biomutant releases in 2019, as I mentioned, for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC. You can take a look at the new trailers and screenshots below.
