Microsoft’s Xbox Cloud Gaming initiative has been a great success, allowing many across the globe to stream full-quality console games on mobile devices without much hassle (under ideal circumstances, at least). As it stands, however, players either need to use a controller if they want to play a game or use touch controls on mobile- although that’s likely to change in the near future.

In a recent episode of the developer Q&A Twitch series (which you can check out below), Microsoft Flight Simulator head Jorg Neumann confirmed that it’s something that’s being actively worked upon, with support for mouse and keyboard inputs currently in the works for Xbox Cloud Gaming. He clarified that while he doesn’t have any role in the development of this feature (because it falls upon the shoulders of the platform team), since Microsoft Flight Simulator supports mouse and keyboard on console, he knows that the feature is coming, alongside making touch controls work well with the game.

“The next step for us is mouse [and] keyboard,” he said (as transcribed by Windows Central). “This is a platform-level support, so it has nothing to do with us. Obviously, mouse and keyboard works for our sim.

“So, the platform team is working on this. I know I can’t give a date because it’s the platform team. I don’t know their dates, but it’s coming, and we are also talking about making touch [controls] work”

Recently, Microsoft introduced a Clarity Boost program for Xbox Cloud Gaming users on Edge to improve image quality- read more on that through here.
