Hellblade 2 Senua's Saga

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is without a doubt one of Microsoft’s biggest and most anticipated upcoming first party releases, which is a testament to both Ninja Theory and its predecessor, especially because so far we’ve only seen a brief cinematic teaser for the game. At the recent Xbox Games Showcase, Ninja Theory did briefly talk about the action-adventure title, and though no new footage was shown, they did confirm that the game would be set in Iceland.

Now, they have published a new developer diary that highlights that aspect of the game, with creative director Tameem Antoniades explaining how the idea for a sequel first came to him when he was on vacation in Iceland following the first game’s production. To capture the location’s atmosphere and vibe, Ninja Theory conducted extensive location scouting, visiting over 40 different locations in Iceland over the course of two weeks. There’s plenty of interesting tidbits in the dev diary, so make sure to check it out below.

In a previous developer diary video, Ninja Theory talked about the scope of Hellblade 2’s production, mentioning that its development team is twice as big as that of the first game. Read more on that through here.

Being developed on Unreal Engine 5Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is due out for the Xbox Series X and PC, but currently has no firm release date or window.
