Sea Of Thieves Closed Beta Saw 332,052 Players With Over 2 Million Cumulative Hours Played

The developer has revealed data regarding the closed beta.

Sea of Thieves’ closed beta ended some days ago and developer Rare has provided some data in the form of a neat summary. While the closed beta initially had some problems, this was sorted out promptly by extending the beta itself by an extra two days.

Overall,  332,052 players had participated in this closed beta who had together clocked in over 2 million hours in the game within this short period. Not surprisingly, about 25,000 of these players also broadcasted their time with the game or uploaded videos on gameplay.  These videos were then watched  by an average of 104,240 viewers who had cumulatively  watched almost 14.5 million hours of gameplay. In fact, broadcasting of the game was so popular that it had the most live viewers on both Twitch and Mixer while the beta was going on.

These numbers are certainly promising and it remains to be seen if this success will carry over to the full release of the game. You can check out an infographic with all of the given data below. Sea of Thieves is set to release for the Xbox One and PC on March 20, 2018.
