Rise of the Ronin Reportedly Has Dozens of Combat Styles, Stats Unlock New Dialogue Choices

Team Ninja’s Rise of the Ronin received several new impressions and gameplay footage yesterday, outlining the beginning of the game and several aspects of the open world. You can check out our thoughts (and concerns) here, but it’s worth noting that the game has more to look forward to, especially with the combat.

For instance, though we’ve only seen a few Combat Styles until now, there are reportedly many more to discover. In its impressions, PlayStation Blog noted that there appear to be “dozens”, which is pretty impressive given the sheer number of weapon types. It’s also revealed that stats like Strength, Dexterity and Intelligence, alongside options in the skill trees, can lead to new dialogue options.

One example is intimidating some officials, leading to their Ki gauges dropping when you fight. It’s an intriguing aspect that should help players approach situations differently.
