The original Red Dead Redemption recently received a fresh classification rating from the Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea, sparking rumours (once again) that Rockstar could potentially be gearing up to announce a remaster of the open world title, something that’s been in heavy demand for years at this point.

Interestingly enough, more recent developments could suggest that there’s been more activity on that front. As recently discovered by a Twitter user, it seems like some of Red Dead Redemption’s Social Club trophies have been updated with new, higher quality emblems.

The tweet that first noted this has since been deleted, but Reddit users managed to nab images of said updates nonetheless. While not necessarily concrete evidence, it could suggest that Rockstar is getting ready to launch an updated version of the Wild West open world epic.

The original Red Dead Redemption launched only for PS3 and Xbox 360, and on top of still not having released for PC to this day, the only way to play it on modern consoles is on Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S via backward comptability, or by streaming it on PS4 or PS5 through PlayStation Plus.

Rumours of a Red Dead Redemption remaster have been doing rounds for a while, and flared up again last year, though shortly afterward, it was claimed that the alleged remaster had reportedly been shelved so that Rockstar could instead focus on Grand Theft Auto 6.

With GTA 6 potentially targeting a launch sometime between April 2024 and March 2025, could Rockstar have resumed its work on a Red Dead remaster? That’s certainly the hope for a great many players, and if its recent rating in Korea in particular is anything to go by, if a remaster is indeed happening, an announcement might not be too far away. If it is happening.
