Heart Machine has released a new trailer for Hyper Light Breaker, its 3D hack-and-slash follow-up to Hyper Light Drifter. Set in Overgrowth, the story sees The Breakers venturing to take down the Abyss King. You’ll need to explore the different biomes to defeat bosses and activate beacons to reach them.
Starting at The Settlement, which evolves, you’ll explore the Drowned City, the Acid Mire with its acid lakes and coliseum, the Jeweled Spire (which seems to refer to the giant sword structure in the distance) and the Shattered Fortress. Whether these are part of the same biome or separate remains to be seen, but they’re all open to explore from the beginning.
Combat against regular enemies and bosses is showcased and looks as sharp as ever. Heart Machine hasn’t gone into much detail about the various activities in the wild, so hopefully, we’ll learn more in the coming months.
Hyper Light Breaker enters early access in Fall 2023 for PC. It’s available to wishlist now on Steam.
