Hollow Knight: Silksong Developer Says “it Can’t be Too Much Longer” Until its Next Showing

The excruciating wait for Hollow Knight: Silksong continues, but developer Team Cherry seems to have suggested that it might end sooner rather than later.

Hollow Knight Silksong

Hollow Knight: Silksong has been one of the most elusive and highly anticipated upcoming games since developer Team Cherry confirmed back in 2019 that what had started development as an expansion for the original Hollow Knight was being turned into a full-fledged sequel. The fact that updates on the game have been non-existent since we last got new gameplay details over a year ago has only made that wait more excruciating.

Surely, it won’t be much longer before we hear more about the game, right? Perhaps even get a release date announcement sometime in the near future? Answers to those questions remain, as ever, scant, but Team Cherry recently (seemingly) suggested that we might not be waiting for the game too much longer.

Upon being named as the most anticipated upcoming game in Unity’s recent 2021 awards, Team Cherry said: “We’re honored that Hollow Knight: Silksong won the 2021 Unity Award for the most anticipated game, and hugely appreciate all of the fans who support us as we work on the game. Thank you so much. We’re looking forward to the day we can share the game with you all. It can’t be too much longer, surely!”

Sure, the vague wording there doesn’t exactly inspire too much confidence, but in the absence of a meal, Hollow Knight fans will have to resort to morsels.

In January of last year, Team Cherry suggested that it had developed all the content for Hollow Knight: Silksong and was in the final testing stages. Clearly, they’re testing the hell out of it.

A Nintendo Indie World showcase is set for tomorrow, but whether or not Hollow Knight will have any sort of a presence there is anyone’s best guess.
