Shiro Games and Funcom have announced a new 4X strategy title based on Dune that enters Steam Early Access in 2022. Dune: Spice Wars sees players controlling different Houses and leading their faction to glory on Arrakis. Of course, you could also forge your own path but remember that controlling the Spice means controlling the universe.
House Atreides and House Harkonnen have already been confirmed but there will be multiple other factions included. Players can use politics to outmaneuver the other factions, rely on military force or employ espionage to emerge victorious. Of course, the iconic Sandworms are here which can wreck all of your best-laid plans so be prepared.
Dune: Spice Wars will be available first for PC but could come to other platforms later. It launches with four factions with three victory conditions and all of its warfare, spying and political systems in place. Multiplayer will be added over its early access period, which is estimated to last for about nine to 12 months.
