It wouldn’t be a proper RPG if there weren’t multiple in-game currencies to keep track of, and the same is true with Dragon’s Dogma 2. Besides the bog-standard Gold, there are also Rift Crystals, used for the purpose of recruiting Pawns to your side. In this Dragon’s Dogma 2 guide, we’ll take a look at farming methods for both.

Gold Farming

  • As always, just playing through the main quests and side quests will earn you plenty of gold as rewards upon completion. Remember that many quests are time sensitive, in that they will expire or continue without player intervention, so be sure to snap them up as quickly as possible. And try to complete them with some sense of urgency as well.
  • Looting the corpses of your vanquished enemies is a secondary source of gold, as is plundering their lairs and camps. Even though the individual amounts are quite paltry, the sheer number of kills will net you a large amount of gold over time.
  • Trading equipment is the next best source of income, since you will be picking up a lot of weapons and armor while looting as well. There are willing traders everywhere, to whom you can offload all that extra stuff.
  • Treasure Chests and pouches are less reliable sources of gold, but are a welcome bonus in your quest for wealth. These can be found just about anywhere, be it inside of buildings, or atop ridgelines, or even in what appears to be inaccessible areas. If the chest or pouch is physically out of reach, remember that you can direct your Pawns to collect them for you. You can also rely on visual and verbal cues from your Pawns to alert you to goodies and secrets in the vicinity, so keep a sharp eye and ear out.
  • If the opportunity arises to come to the aid of an NPC under attack by enemies, do so quickly, as the gold reward from Culling Requests can be quite worth the effort. An added bonus is the loot from the corpses themselves.

That’s every possible gold farming method you can use in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
