It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to call 2018’s Celeste a truly standout achievement in game design and video game storytelling, so it’s absolutely no surprise that there’s no shortage of people who’re keenly awaiting to find out what it is that the folks who developed it will deliver up next. Last year, we were given a brief glimpse at what that will be- Earthblade. Recently at The Game Awards, we got a proper look at the game.
Earthblade is a 2D sidescrolling action platformer with an emphasis on exploration gameplay. The game promises seamless exploration in what’s looking like a sizeable and varied world, while there are also promises of a mysterios world and story, challenging combat, and much more. Of course, it’s also looking absolutely gorgeous with its pixel-art visuals, which are more than just a little reminiscent of Celeste’s art style. Check out its debut trailer below.
