Stellar Blade’s Main Story is About 25 Hours Long

It takes "30 to 50 hours" of playtime for all the "collection elements," says director Kim Hyeong-tae. The PS5 title launches on April 26th.

Shift Up’s Stellar Blade has received extensive details since its State of Play trailer and launch date announcement, including confirmation of semi-open world areas like the Great Desert and Wasteland. CEO and director Kim Hyeong-tae cited NieR: Automata as “huge driving force” for the project, and it seems the title could mirror it in terms of playtime.

Speaking to RULIWEB (translation via NoisyPixel), Hyeong-tae revealed that the main story will take about 25 hours to finish. Those seeking 100 percent completion can expect 30 to 50 hours of gameplay. He also confirmed that the game’s delay was not due to issues discovered by Sony but because of the “polishing process.”

“It is not that issues were discovered during the inspection process, but the release was delayed a bit due to the polishing process. Playtime is expected to be about 25 hours for the main story and 30 to 50 hours for all the collection elements.”

Stellar Blade launches April 26th for $70 on PS5 (with the Deluxe Edition costing $80). As Eve, member of the Airborne Squad, players battle the Naytibas, monsters who follow “the will of a higher entity composed of Alpha and an Elder”. There are upgrades to unlock, new outfits to discover and tasks to take on for various individuals. Head here for more gameplay details.
