Sea of Thieves New Video Highlights Xbox One and Windows 10 Cross Platform Play

The seven seas aren't divvied up by what platform you play the game on.

Microsoft confirmed that Rare’s upcoming shared world pirate themed multiplayer action game, Sea of Thieves will have cross platform play between Windows 10 and Xbox One- allowing for seamless participation by players on either platform. And now, a brand new video for the game attempts to highlight this the best it can (given that the thing it is trying to highlight is by definition a bit… abstract?)

In this case, Executive Producer Joe Neate and Windows 10 Design Lead Ted Timmins end up dropping into the Technical Alpha for this game while playing on a Windows 10 PC- it’s nifty stuff, and it should definitely be a boost to this game, especially since a multiplayer game like this is hugely reliant on its player population.

Sea of Thieves is due out in Early 2018 for the Xbox One, and for PCs running Windows 10. It was originally going to release this year, but it has been pushed into Spring of next year for now.
