If you care about Ace Combat, then the series made a return yesterday in a big way. Ace Combat 7 was announced at the PlayStation Experience, and with some form of VR support to boot. Everyone’s favorite aerial combat franchise seems to be back in business here, guys.

“Ace Combat 7 will astound players with beautifully rendered skies and highly detailed cityscapes but also set the stage for the most engaging aerial battles in the franchise’s storied 20 year history accompanied with an immersive soundtrack,” said Bandai Namco. “Ace Combat 7 will take the elements that the series is known for to a whole new level! Aces who have proven their combat prowess inAce Combat 7’s campaign mode can take their dogfighting skills further with furious online multiplayer battles.

“PlayStation 4 players will also be able to get immersed in Ace Combat 7’s realism through exclusive features developed specifically for PlayStation VR,” they added, hinting that, even if this game were to come to other platforms, it may not come to other VR headsets- if you want to play it in VR, PS4 might be your only bet.
